About Us

Haylee Platt

Utah Peak Canine was born out of my desire to experience everything I can with my dog. We love hiking and exploring new trails and I am passionate about obedience both on the trail and in public around distractions. I love a confident dog who is happy to take on any challenge and is comfortable in all situations. Utah has so many different places to experience and I have loved taking my dogs from the Slat Flats to Red Rock trails and all the mountains in between.

I am a passionate learner and I love spending time testing out new training techniques and learning as much as I can to make people’s relationships with their dogs better. I believe a biologically fulfilled dog is a good dog whether that be through hiking which allows for physical exercise along with the mental stimulation of exploring new scents, or herding trials for your border collie I think it is important to find what it is that you and your dog are passionate about.

Utah also has access to so many dog sports and between my two we have taken advantages of trying many and competing in some including Scentwork, GRC, Weightpull, Dock Diving, PSA, & Coursing. Dog sports are a passion of mine and something I encourage clients to dive into. Dog sports provide new training goals, outlets for your dogs drive and a community of like minded individuals.

Akseli

Kullervo’s Curse BCAT SCN SIN SBN SR2

Akseli is a reservation mutt and my faux shepherd. Akseli is my right hand, he works alongside clients for them to learn handling and as an excellent distraction dog. He loves hiking and anything that means being outside.

Akseli’s is my try everything dog, he is always so willing to give it a shot and is so easy to handle through new scenarios or distractions. While he’s dabbled in many sports Scentwork and Weightpull are his favorites.

Sif

Sif came into my life as a foster but she quickly found a way into my life as my little “discount dutchie.” Sif is actually a Malinois Lab mix but with that brindle coat and all the drive of a mal she’s been really fun to have around. Her and Akseli are absolute opposites but balance each other out.

Sif is here as my PSA (Protection Sport Association) prospect and is working to learn all the complexities of the sport. She also enjoys playing in many others sports and loves to dock dive and run on the slat mill.
